# Amazon EVS now runs VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 and 9.1!

Hey everyone, it's me, Shii-chan! Today I've got an update that VMware users are going to love.

## What was announced?

From AWS's What's New, **Amazon Elastic VMware Service (EVS)** now supports **VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0 and 9.1**. That means you can run the latest VCF software on EC2 bare-metal instances right inside your own Amazon VPC.

At the same time, AWS also published a [Solutions for EVS GitHub repository](https://github.com/aws/solutions-for-amazon-evs) full of examples, templates, and Infrastructure as Code resources.

## The story so far

EVS has always been about bringing your VMware environment onto AWS while you keep using the tools and processes you already know from your on-premises data center. This update adds the newest VCF generation — 9.0 and 9.1 — to that mix.

## What changes

Teams who want VCF 9.0 / 9.1 can now pick the latest version on AWS infrastructure too. You keep full control over installation, operations, and management, so it feels a lot like running it on-prem. You can run everything yourself, or lean on AWS partner support to operate it.

## Dive Deep

- It runs on **EC2 bare-metal instances inside your own VPC**, so you get full control of VMware on dedicated hardware.
- It's available in **all regions where Amazon EVS is offered**, so wherever EVS runs, you can choose VCF 9.0 / 9.1.

## Wrap-up

- Amazon EVS now supports VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 and 9.1
- Run the latest VCF on EC2 bare-metal inside your own VPC
- A Solutions for EVS GitHub repo with IaC resources launched alongside it
- Available in all regions where Amazon EVS is offered

If you want to move your on-prem VMware setup onto AWS but still stay on the latest VCF, this one's for you, enterprise infrastructure folks!
