# Managed Service for Apache Flink Gets AI Agent Skills — Now You Can Ask Claude Code for Operational Help

## What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink (MSF) now offers "AI Agent Skills." It gives AI coding assistants expert, up-to-date guidance for building and operating Flink applications.

Three AI coding agents are supported:

- Kiro
- Claude Code
- Cursor

## Why it matters

Apache Flink is a common backbone for stream processing, but tasks like creating applications, troubleshooting, scaling, monitoring, networking configuration, and cost optimization have always required specialized knowledge. AI Agent Skills turns those tasks into a guided experience developers can complete on their own.

## What changes

Once you configure the Agent Toolkit for AWS via the AWS CLI, you can just ask your coding agent questions like "How do I create a new Flink application on MSF?" or "My Flink application is unhealthy — what's wrong?" and get expert guidance back.

Beyond speeding up new application development, it also looks like it'll make upgrading to newer versions like Flink 2.2 easier.
