# Purview Integration Gives Amazon Quick a Data Loss Prevention Fortress!

Hi, it's me! Today's AWS update should catch the eye of any company running both Microsoft 365 and AWS.

## What was announced?

AWS's What's New announced that **Amazon Quick now integrates with Microsoft Purview to enable data loss prevention (DLP)**. You can now apply your existing Purview sensitivity labels directly within your Amazon Quick environment.

## Why it matters

Making sure sensitive files never leave approved channels has always been a headache for organizations. The more casually people can share files, in chat or a knowledge base, the higher the risk of an accidental leak. Whether IT and security teams can control that risk without bolting on more tools is what really matters here.

## What changes

With this integration, IT administrators and security teams can automatically apply their existing Purview sensitivity labels to control how files are handled across Amazon Quick capabilities such as:

- Chat
- Spaces
- Knowledge bases

Administrators can configure an enforcement action for each label, choosing from:

- Block
- Warn
- Allow

For example, a financial services company could block files labeled "Highly Confidential" from being uploaded to shared spaces, while allowing "Internal" files with a warning notification. The key benefit is extending existing Purview governance policies into Quick without adding new tools.

## Dive Deep

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Quick's agentic capabilities are supported; see the AWS Region table for details. Setup steps and more details are in the "Data loss prevention" page of the Amazon Quick User Guide.

## Wrap-up

- Amazon Quick now integrates with Microsoft Purview to enforce DLP using your existing sensitivity labels
- Applies to file handling in chat, spaces, and knowledge bases
- Choose block, warn, or allow per label for fine-grained control
- Extends existing Purview governance policies into Quick with no extra tools needed
- Available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Quick's agentic capabilities are supported

A solid ally for IT admins and security teams who run Microsoft 365 alongside AWS and want tight governance over sensitive data!
