# WorkSpaces Applications Adds NVIDIA Blackwell GPU Support, Up to 2.1x Faster

Hi, I'm Shii-chan!

Today's news should catch the eye of anyone doing creative work, so let's dive right in!

## What was announced?

According to AWS's What's New, Amazon WorkSpaces Applications now supports the new Graphics G7 instances. G7 combines NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs with 6th-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors.

## The story so far

Until now, the previous-generation Graphics G6 was the top tier available for graphics workloads on WorkSpaces Applications. G6 could already stream heavy graphics workloads, but when you needed larger, more complex 3D scenes or higher frame rates, you'd start to hit a performance ceiling.

## What changes

With G7, the level of graphics processing you can stream has taken a big step up.

- Graphics performance up to 2.1x better than G6
- Memory bandwidth 2.67x faster, making it easier to stream larger and more complex 3D scenes and models
- 32 GB of GDDR7 GPU memory per GPU

This means demanding professional applications — CAD/CAM, 3D rendering, scientific visualization, video editing, and AI-assisted design workflows — can now be streamed at higher fidelity and frame rates. For designers and engineers, being able to run these heavy apps without being limited by their local machine's specs is a real win.

## Dive Deep

Let's look at the instance lineup and region availability.

- Six instance sizes are available, with 1 to 8 GPUs, 8 to 192 vCPUs, and 32 GB to 768 GB of system memory
- Currently available in three regions:
  - US East (N. Virginia)
  - US East (Ohio)
  - US West (Oregon)
- Additional regions will be added as availability expands

To get started, just select a Graphics G7 instance when launching an image builder or creating a new fleet in the Amazon WorkSpaces Applications console. Pricing varies by instance size, so check the WorkSpaces Applications pricing page for details.

## Wrap-up

- WorkSpaces Applications now supports Graphics G7 instances powered by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs
- Up to 2.1x better graphics performance and 2.67x faster memory bandwidth compared to G6
- 32 GB of GDDR7 GPU memory, with six instance sizes (1-8 GPUs, 8-192 vCPUs, 32 GB-768 GB memory)
- Available in US East (N. Virginia, Ohio) and US West (Oregon)

If you're a creator or engineer streaming heavy graphics apps like CAD/CAM, 3D rendering, or video editing from the cloud, this is a power upgrade you've been waiting for.
