# CloudFront Quota Increases Go Self-Service, No Support Case Needed!

Hi, it's Shii-chan! You can now raise CloudFront limits without opening a support case. Less waiting is always nice!

## What was announced?

In AWS What's New, AWS announced that Amazon CloudFront now supports **AWS Service Quotas**. From the Service Quotas console or API, you can view, monitor, and request increases for **28** CloudFront quotas.

## The story so far

Increasing a quota on resources such as distributions, cache policies, origins, or alternate domain names meant opening a support case and waiting for manual review.

## What changes

If you have AWS Business Support or higher, limit increase requests within published thresholds are now **approved automatically**. For example, without a support case you can raise:

- Your distribution quota from 500 to 1,000
- The number of alternate domain names per distribution from 100 to 500

## Dive Deep

Some quotas also publish usage metrics to Amazon CloudWatch **every 5 minutes**, so you can set alarms and request an increase before you hit a limit.

It's available in all AWS Regions where CloudFront is supported. To get started, open the Service Quotas console, view your CloudFront quotas, and request increases. See Amazon CloudFront quotas in the CloudFront Developer Guide for more.

## Wrap-up

- 28 CloudFront quotas can be viewed and increased through Service Quotas
- With Business Support or higher, increases within thresholds are automatic
- Some quotas publish usage to CloudWatch every 5 minutes
- Available in all Regions where CloudFront is supported

This is for teams running many domains or distributions!
