# Claude Code Says Goodbye to Auto-Running /verify and /code-review!

Hey everyone, it's me! I've been checking out the latest Claude Code release, so let's dive in!

## What was announced?

Claude Code Release published the latest version of the Claude Code CLI, v2.1.215. This release has just one change: Claude no longer runs the `/verify` and `/code-review` skills on its own. If you want them, you now need to invoke `/verify` or `/code-review` yourself.

## The story so far

Until now, Claude Code would sometimes decide on its own to run the `/verify` or `/code-review` skills at certain points in a task. That could be handy when it did the right thing, but it also meant verification or review could kick off without being asked, eating into your time and tokens unexpectedly.

## What changes

As of v2.1.215, Claude no longer starts either skill on its own — they only run when you explicitly type `/verify` or `/code-review`. You now have full control over when verification or review actually happens, which should cut down on the "wait, why did that just run" moments.

## Wrap-up

- Claude no longer auto-runs the `/verify` and `/code-review` skills on its own initiative
- Invoke `/verify` or `/code-review` yourself whenever you want them
- A welcome change for anyone using Claude Code daily who wants to know exactly when verification or review kicks in!
