# Claude Code v2.1.259 is small but full of fixes that matter

Hi, I'm Shii-chan! A new Claude Code version just shipped, so let me pick out the changes worth knowing about!

## What was announced?

This is the changelog for Claude Code Release `v2.1.259`, posted on GitHub Releases. Between Added, Fixed, Improved, and Changed entries, there's a lot packed into this one, and much of it is the unglamorous kind of change that quietly matters in practice.

## Why it matters

What stands out most in this release is how many changes support **organization-wide operation** and **automation/headless use**. This isn't so much about individual convenience features — it's mostly about shoring up the foundation for running Claude Code across a team or a CI/CD pipeline.

## What changes

Here are the additions worth calling out.

- A new admin-facing setting, `managedMcpServers`, lets organizations distribute HTTP/SSE MCP servers to every user (entries that name a command to run are automatically skipped)
- The new `--permission-prompts none` flag makes unattended headless hosts automatically deny anything that would otherwise prompt, while the active permission mode still makes its own decisions
- Claude Code now recognizes `glab mr create/merge/close/reopen/note/update` and similar GitLab commands, showing merge requests as `MR !N` in the tool summary
- `claude plugin validate` gained a `--json` flag for a machine-readable validation report

## Dive Deep

Two of the bug fixes look especially impactful for day-to-day use.

- Fixed a bug where running multiple sessions concurrently could cause them to silently overwrite each other's changes to `~/.claude.json`, resetting workspace trust or losing MCP/project state. Anyone running several sessions in parallel should feel this one
- Fixed cases where Bash's `Read()` deny rules failed to cover option values like `--ignore-revs-file=.env` or `-f.env`, `@file` arguments, file operands to `git diff`/`git grep`, or compound commands like `cd DIR && cat FILE`. `grep -r` and `cp -r` over a directory containing a denied file will now also prompt for confirmation

Other fixes include a conversation whose thinking was rejected once getting rejected again on every later turn, and the prompt cache being invalidated when an OAuth token refreshed in sessions with telemetry disabled.

## Wrap-up

- `managedMcpServers` enables org-wide MCP server distribution, and `--permission-prompts none` supports unattended headless use
- GitLab merge request commands are now recognized, and `claude plugin validate --json` gives a machine-readable result
- Fixed config corruption across concurrent sessions and gaps in the Bash deny rules
- Also fixes a repeated thinking-rejection bug and a prompt-cache invalidation issue, among others

If you use Claude Code every day, it's worth checking out what's new here!
