# Your Bill Just Moved to the Sidebar! Usage Checks on Cloudflare Product Pages

Hey there, it's me, Shii-chan! Today I've got a small, quiet update that's quietly wonderful for your wallet.

## What was announced?

Cloudflare's Changelog brought a handy update for pay-as-you-go customers. Until now, checking your billable usage meant navigating away to a dedicated page. Starting now, each product's overview page shows a sidebar widget with your current billing period's usage and your billing cycle dates. And you can even set up budget alerts right there.

## The story so far

With pay-as-you-go, you naturally wonder "how much am I using right now?" But until now you had to go all the way to the Billable Usage dashboard to find out. That meant leaving the product page you were working on, which was a tiny bit of a hassle.

## What changes

From now on, you can keep your product overview page open and check this period's usage and billing cycle straight from the sidebar widget. The data shown matches the Billable Usage dashboard. When you hit the budget alert option, the alert setup flow opens inline right there, so you can set a threshold in a snap. No more bouncing between screens.

## Dive Deep

This feature works across eight Cloudflare products: Workers & Pages, D1, R2, Workers KV, Queues, Vectorize, Durable Objects, and Containers. That's a nice range for anyone working with the serverless lineup.

One thing to keep in mind: budget alerts don't work per individual product; they operate as a single alert across your whole account. So even when you set one from the sidebar, it's an account-level alert. The [budget alerts](https://developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/post/2026-04-13-billable-usage-dashboard-and-budget-alerts/) mechanism itself was introduced in an earlier announcement, and if you want more detail, take a peek at the [usage-based billing documentation](https://developers.cloudflare.com/billing/).

## Wrap-up

- Pay-as-you-go users can now see this period's usage and billing cycle in the product overview page sidebar
- You can set up budget alerts inline, right there
- Supported across Workers & Pages, D1, R2, KV, Queues, Vectorize, Durable Objects, and Containers (eight products)
- Budget alerts work at the account level, not per product

It's a small but thoughtful improvement, perfect for pay-as-you-go users who like to keep an eye on their bill and want to avoid accidental overspending.
