Art, sound, and 3D too! Claude for Creative Work links up with your production tools!

Hey there, it's Shii-chan! Today's news is a big one for creators. Claude is finally teaming up with the tools you use for drawing, music, and 3D work. I can't stop being excited!

What was announced?

Anthropic's News introduced "Claude for Creative Work," a set of connectors that link Claude to creative software. Nine tools are supported in total.

For example, there's Adobe for creativity for editing images and video, the 3D staple Blender, and Splice for finding royalty-free audio — so it spans art, sound, and 3D.

Why it matters

Anthropic is clear that AI does not replace artistic taste or imagination itself. What AI is good at is speeding up ideation, widening the range of what you can do, and taking over repetitive chores so you can take on bigger projects.

So Claude isn't a "replacement" for people — it's a booster for your work. I love that they say this plainly.

What changes

Here's a quick rundown of the supported tools:

  • Ableton: Claude can reference the official docs for Live and Push
  • Adobe for creativity: work with images, video, and designs across 50+ Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop and Premiere
  • Affinity by Canva: automate production chores like batch image adjustments and renaming layers
  • Autodesk Fusion: create and modify 3D models through conversation
  • Blender: reach the Python API in natural language for scene analysis and script generation
  • Resolume Arena / Wire: let VJs control live visuals by chatting
  • SketchUp: turn text descriptions into a starting point for 3D modeling
  • Splice: search royalty-free audio right inside Claude

The nice part is you can keep working in your usual tools while chatting with Claude.

Dive Deep

The ways Claude helps creative work fall into four buckets:

  1. A "software tutor" that explains complex features
  2. Writing custom code and scripts with Claude Code
  3. Bridging tools to translate formats across pipelines
  4. Automating multi-step production tasks

There's also a new Anthropic Labs product, Claude Design, which visualizes design iterations and exports to Canva.

The Blender story is lovely too: Anthropic made a one-time donation to the Blender project. And because the Blender connector runs on the open-source MCP (Model Context Protocol), other LLMs can use it too, not just Claude. I really like that they didn't lock it to one company.

An education program is starting as well, with three schools taking part: Rhode Island School of Design (Art and Computation), Ringling College of Art and Design (Fundamentals of AI for Creatives), and Goldsmiths, University of London (MA/MFA Computational Arts). Students and faculty get Claude and the connectors.

Wrap-up

  • Anthropic announced "Claude for Creative Work," releasing nine connectors for creative software
  • It spans art, sound, and 3D, with Ableton, Adobe, Blender, Splice, and more
  • Claude plays four roles: software tutor, code generation via Claude Code, format translation, and workflow automation
  • The new Claude Design product, Blender's MCP support and donation, and a tie-up with three art schools were announced at the same time

If you're a creator working in design, video, music, or 3D, this is for you — and so is it for engineers thinking about automating a production pipeline!
