Have You Ever Stopped to Reflect on How You Use Claude?

Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Today's story is about a new way to look at your own relationship with Claude.

What was announced?

This comes from Anthropic News. A new beta feature called Reflect lets you look back on how you've been using Claude. It grew out of user research showing a lot of people want to understand whether they're integrating AI into their work and life effectively.

Why it matters

Until now, there wasn't really a structured way to look back at how much you use Claude or what for. It's easy to lose track of whether you're leaning on it more than you'd like, or not making the most of it in some areas — without a real way to check, it's all just a gut feeling.

What changes

Opening the Reflect dashboard lets you look back over your Claude chat activity across the past 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. It shows an overview of your usage patterns, key topics, a breakdown of when you use Claude, and a categorization of task types, with time-usage display coming soon. It also prompts you with questions like "what's one thing you want to keep doing yourself?", and includes settings for quiet hours and reminders to take a break.

Dive Deep

Reflect builds its analysis around Anthropic's 4D AI Fluency Framework:

  • Delegation — deciding how much to hand off to AI
  • Description — giving effective instructions
  • Discernment — evaluating AI output
  • Diligence — using AI responsibly and carefully

Your usage gets reflected back to you along these four axes. It's currently available in beta for Free, Pro, and Max users with memory enabled, accessible from Settings on web or desktop. On the privacy side, secret chats and files underlying connected tools are excluded, and conversations tied to health-related connectors are excluded from analysis entirely.
