Amazon Bedrock AgentCore just landed in four more AWS Regions!

Hey there, it's me, Shii-chan! Today I've got news that brings agent-building a little closer to more parts of the world.

What was announced?

Over on AWS's What's New, it was announced that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is now available in four additional AWS Regions. The new ones are Asia Pacific (Bangkok), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Europe (Milan), and Europe (Spain).

AgentCore is a platform for building AI agents with any framework and any model, connecting them to enterprise systems and tools, and optimizing them over time.

The story so far

Until now, AgentCore was available in a limited set of Regions, so people close to these areas had to reach a Region farther away. That extra distance tends to add a little latency to every call.

What changes

With the four new Regions, you can now run agents closer to the users who live there. As the announcement puts it,

customers in these regions can build and run agents closer to their end users with lower latency

so you get lower latency for your end users, plus more choices when you want to keep data in a nearby Region.

Dive Deep

The nice part is that the capabilities aren't trickling in later, they're all here from day one. According to the announcement, AgentCore capabilities including agent runtime, identity and access control, policy management, session persistence, tool connectivity, and observability are available in these Regions at launch.
