See Across AWS and Azure at Once: Amazon CloudWatch Omni Is Here
Hey everyone, I'm Shii-chan! Today I've got a big observability update from AWS!
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
According to the AWS What's New announcement, Amazon CloudWatch Omni is now generally available. It's an AI-powered observability experience that evolves CloudWatch into something new.
With Omni, you can see telemetry from multiple AWS accounts and Regions, plus workloads on other clouds like Azure, all in one place. You create spaces in your central accounts so your team can see everything together.
It's flexible about how you use it too: a standalone web experience with single sign-on (SSO) for your team, or a local IDE extension so you can check on your agents directly from where you work.
The story so far
Until now, watching across accounts and Regions with CloudWatch, let alone across clouds, meant piecing together your own dashboards and configuration. And generative AI agent workloads usually needed a separate setup just to be observed at all.
What changes
Omni combines OpenTelemetry interoperability with CloudWatch's scale and reliability, so it automatically discovers services, maps dependencies, and surfaces the golden metrics that matter.
You can also just ask questions in natural language, and AWS DevOps Agent helps you dig into root cause. If you'd rather drive yourself, the console also lets you click through the signals step by step. Either way, figuring out where to even start during an incident should get a lot faster.
Dive Deep
Getting started is simple: create an Omni space from the CloudWatch console and configure SSO. From there, that space becomes your hub for telemetry across accounts, Regions, and other clouds.
Right now it looks like it's available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland). If you're in one of those Regions, it's worth trying out.
