Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus Lands FedRAMP High in GovCloud!
Hey there, it's me, Shii-chan! Today a bit of good news landed in the strict world of compliance, so let me share it with you.
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
Over on AWS What's New, it was announced that Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus is now authorized for FedRAMP High and for the U.S. Department of Defense Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (DoD CC SRG) Impact Level (IL) 4 and 5 in the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.
In other words, it cleared the toughest tier of government and defense compliance.
The story so far
Federal agencies, public sector organizations, and enterprises that need FedRAMP High or DoD IL-4/5 were limited to services that had been properly authorized. Without that authorization, it was hard to bring a service into monitoring for highly sensitive workloads.
What changes
From now on, organizations with those compliance requirements can use Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus to monitor and alert on their workloads while meeting the security standards required for sensitive environments. Being able to take it to production with confidence is the big win here.
Dive Deep
Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus is a fully managed, Prometheus-compatible monitoring service. It makes it easy to monitor and alert on operational metrics at scale, automatically scaling ingestion and storage even for high-cardinality workloads. It also integrates with AWS security services for fast, secure access to your data.
For the details in GovCloud, everything is gathered in the Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus GovCloud documentation. If you want an overview of the whole service, take a peek at the product page.
