AWS Client VPN Now Supports macOS 27 Golden Gate!

Hi, it's me, Shiichan! Today I found a small but quietly satisfying AWS update to share.

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

This comes from AWS What's New. The AWS Client VPN desktop client now supports the latest macOS version, macOS 27 Golden Gate. You'll need client version 6.0 or later to use it.

The story so far

Until now, AWS Client VPN supported macOS 13.0, 14.0, 15.0, and 26.0, along with Windows 10 (x64), Windows 11 (Arm64 and x64), and Ubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS. The newest macOS version, Golden Gate (27.0), wasn't supported yet.

What changes

If you update your client to version 6.0 or later, you can keep using AWS Client VPN even after upgrading to macOS 27 Golden Gate. Remote workers who rely on Client VPN to securely reach AWS and on-premises networks from a Mac no longer have to worry about their VPN connection breaking after an OS upgrade.

Dive Deep

Here's the full list of supported platforms:

  • macOS: 13.0 / 14.0 / 15.0 / 26.0 / 27.0 (Golden Gate, requires client 6.0+)
  • Windows: 10 (x64) / 11 (Arm64, x64)
  • Linux: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS

The AWS Client VPN desktop client itself is free to download. As a managed service, it's designed to securely connect remote workers to AWS and on-premises networks.
