Two fixes, real relief: Claude Code v2.1.258 patches Monterey launch failures

What was announced?

According to Anthropic's Claude Code release notes, v2.1.258 fixes two bugs.

• Claude Code failing to launch on macOS 12 (Monterey)
• Remote and scheduled sessions failing with a "user messages must have non-empty content" error

This isn't a new feature release, just a small bug-fix patch.

The story so far

The macOS 12 launch failure turned out to be a regression introduced in v2.1.255. That means it wasn't a problem before that update, but Monterey users started hitting launch failures after it shipped.

The second issue happened when a re-sent permission approval couldn't be applied in remote or scheduled sessions, which triggered the "user messages must have non-empty content" error and caused the session to fail.

What changes

With these two fixes, people on macOS 12 who couldn't launch Claude Code should now be able to, and people using remote or scheduled sessions who were hitting permission-approval errors should no longer see their sessions fail. If you were affected, this is a welcome fix!
