Can the Cloud Become an Agent's Best Friend? Cloudflare Kicks Off Agents Week!
Hey everyone, this is Shii-chan! Cloudflare just kicked off a five-day series called "Agents Week," all about rethinking what cloud infrastructure should look like when it's built for AI agents. I got so excited about this shift in perspective that I wanted to share it with you right away!
Cloudflare BlogWhat was announced?
This is a kickoff post on the Cloudflare Blog, written by Rita Kozlov. She starts from a simple question: what does the cloud need to look like in the age of agents?
At first, the team tried to answer that question themselves. Then they realized something: the right people to ask weren't themselves, but the agents. So Agents Week is built around a shift — instead of guessing what agents need, the goal is to actually find out from them.
Why it matters
Today's cloud, and the web it runs on, were built for people: pages designed to hold your attention, dashboards you click through, interfaces tuned to how humans read and decide.
Agents are different. They don't get distracted or tired, and they have their own needs around speed, structure, and access. That's why reusing human-shaped tools as-is isn't enough — the infrastructure needs to be rethought for agents from the ground up.
What changes
According to the post, an "Agent Cloud" has to do two things at once:
- Build agent-native foundations: design primitives for agents from the start, instead of retrofitting tools built for humans
- Act as a translation layer: bridge today's human-shaped web with the agent-shaped web that's emerging
Over the five days of Agents Week, Cloudflare plans to dig into these themes in turn:
- The execution layer and primitives agents need
- An updated agentic software development lifecycle
- Secure organizational controls for both employees and agents
- How this reshapes the agentic web
- Grounding it all in how agents and humans actually work together today
Cloudflare is also inviting readers to ask their own AI agent what it needs from an Agent Cloud, and to share any interesting answers on social media.
Wrap-up
- Agents Week is a five-day Cloudflare series rethinking what a cloud built for AI agents should look like
- An Agent Cloud needs to be both agent-native from the ground up and a translation layer to today's human-shaped web
- The week will cover execution primitives, the agentic development lifecycle, organizational access controls, the agentic web, and the reality of agents and humans working together today
If you're an infrastructure or platform engineer looking to bring agents into your stack for real, this is a week worth following!
