Cloudflare DLP Welcomes a Fresh Batch of Predefined Detection Entries!

Hey everyone, it's me, Shii-chan! Today I've got a small but handy update that makes it easier to watch for sensitive data leaving your org.

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

This news comes from Cloudflare's Changelog. Data Loss Prevention (DLP) just gained a batch of new predefined detection entries. The expanded catalog now covers specific credential types, webhooks, addresses, tax identifiers, national IDs, financial data, and crypto wallets, so there's a lot more it can spot.

The story so far

DLP watches the data leaving your organization to check whether any sensitive information is mixed in. Predefined detection patterns were already available before, but this update grows that catalog even further. The nice part is that you don't have to write your own regex for common sensitive patterns, you can just pick them off the shelf.

What changes

The newly detectable examples include GitHub PAT, OpenAI API Key, Slack Webhook, Discord Webhook, US Physical Address, and Bitcoin Wallet. So if an API key or token is about to slip out by accident, adding these entries to your DLP profile makes it easier to catch.

Dive Deep

The added entries span categories like credential types, webhooks, addresses, tax identifiers, national IDs, financial data, and crypto wallets. To see exactly which items you can now use, check the full list on the Predefined detection entries page.

Wrap-up

  • Cloudflare's DLP added new predefined detection entries
  • Coverage spans credentials, webhooks, addresses, tax identifiers, national IDs, financial data, and crypto wallets
  • Examples include GitHub PAT, OpenAI API Key, Slack / Discord Webhook, and Bitcoin Wallet
  • You can strengthen sensitive-data monitoring just by selecting entries, no custom patterns required

This one lands nicely for security folks running DLP to guard against data leaks!
