Which bots are on your side? BotBase and Attribution Business Insights make it clear!

Hey everyone, it's me, Shiichan! Today I found an update that makes bot traffic way easier to see, so let me walk you through it!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

This one comes from Cloudflare's Changelog. For Content Independence Day 2026, Enterprise Bot Management gains two new tools: BotBase, a searchable directory of every bot Cloudflare tracks, and Attribution Business Insights, a dashboard that shows how much value each crawler sends back to your business.

The story so far

Bot traffic has been hard to see and reason about. Figuring out which bots are visiting, and why, took real effort.

What changes

With BotBase, you can search and filter the full catalogue of known bots and agents right from the dashboard. You can narrow your own traffic down to a single bot to investigate what it's doing on your zone, and copy a bot's detection ID to target it precisely in Security rules. Cloudflare classifies each bot by behavior — Search, Agent, Training, plus categories like Transact, Data Collection, SEO, and Ads Verification — so you can tell why a crawler is visiting.

Every tracked bot is also published in Cloudflare Radar's bots and agents directory.

The other tool, Attribution Business Insights, is built for content owners and decision-makers who want to know which bots help or hurt their business, without reading rule syntax.

Dive Deep

Attribution Business Insights reports crawl-to-referral ratios — comparing how often a company crawls your content against how many visitors it actually refers back — both site-wide and per bot operator, over the last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.

Each operator is labeled with Cloudflare's updated classification and an action status of Allowed, Blocked, or Partially blocked, so stakeholders share an at-a-glance view of the AI traffic reaching your site.

Wrap-up

  • BotBase is a dashboard directory of every bot Cloudflare tracks, with search, filtering, and copyable detection IDs you can use in Security rules
  • Bots are classified by behavior (Search, Agent, Training, and more), so you can see why they visit
  • Attribution Business Insights surfaces crawl-to-referral ratios over 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days
  • Both ship with Enterprise Bot Management — handy for people running bot defenses and for those making business calls!
