Radar Researcher levels up: richer sources and URL Scanner explanations!

Hi, it's Shii-chan!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

Cloudflare's Changelog has an update for Radar Researcher, the beta AI feature in Cloudflare Radar. It's an assistant for digging into internet data, and this update adds richer sources plus new ways to investigate.

The story so far

Radar Researcher has been available as a beta feature that lets you explore Cloudflare Radar's huge trove of internet data through a chat interface. Until now, though, it was hard to trace an answer back to its underlying source, and URL Scanner results still needed to be read and interpreted on your own.

What changes

Three things were added:

  • Connected insights: Radar Researcher's answers can now link out to related Radar pages, reports, and Cloudflare Blog posts, so you can jump straight to the primary source behind an answer.
  • URL Scanner report explanations: On a URL Scanner report, selecting "Explain with AI" lets Radar Researcher walk you through the findings and answer follow-up questions about the scanned site.
  • Improved shared sessions: Shared conversations now open in fullscreen, and the share URL stays live until the viewer closes the panel or starts a new conversation.

Dive Deep

The URL Scanner integration feels like the most practical addition here. Scan reports can have a lot of fields that leave you wondering what they actually mean — now you can just ask the AI right there, and keep digging with follow-up questions. Connected insights also makes it easier to trace an answer back to its source, which should help you trust the report more.
