Workers failures, straight to your agent! Cloudflare MCP now supports MCP Events

Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Here's an update that lets agents notice failures on their own!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

According to the Cloudflare Changelog, the Cloudflare API MCP server now sends Workers Issues as MCP Events. It's the first event the server exposes.

Workers Issues is built-in error monitoring for Workers. It detects production failures and groups related ones into issues, with no SDK or application wrapper.

What changes

When Issues detects a new or recurring problem, the server posts a signed event to the client's webhook. An agent can start investigating from that notification without polling!

Dive Deep

  • MCP clients discover the event cloudflare.alert.workers_observability_real_time_issue with events/list
  • They subscribe with events/subscribe, scoped to an account or a single Worker

Here's what you need to get started:

  • Enable Issues on your Worker
  • Connect https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp from a client that supports MCP Events webhooks
  • The connection needs the Notifications Write and Workers Observability Write permissions

Wrap-up

  • Workers Issues now arrive as MCP Events
  • Signed events go to your webhook, so no polling
  • You can subscribe per account or per Worker

This is for anyone who wants an agent to handle Workers incidents!
