Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Cloudflare's Browser Run just got an upgrade.

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

The Cloudflare Changelog announced that Browser Run now runs Chrome 152 by default. Your sessions get current web platform features, rendering fixes, and security patches, with no code changes needed.

The story so far

The default User-Agent for Quick Actions reported Chrome 119.

What changes

The default User-Agent now reports Chrome 152. If you allowlist or match the Browser Run User-Agent, update your rules. You can still set your own value with the userAgent parameter.

Dive Deep

Other improvements in the same release:

  • Better site compatibility: Quick Actions requests look more like regular Chrome requests, so fewer sites block them
  • Large response headers: pages that return large headers now load correctly
  • Updated root certificates: distrusted roots were removed from the trust store
  • Absolute links: /links returns absolute URLs, and links-only crawls follow relative links
  • Better Markdown output: /markdown and crawl output keep code block languages
  • Clearer errors: timed-out Quick Actions return a consistent error, and Outbound Workers that throw return an HTTP error to the browser

Wrap-up

  • Browser Run now runs Chrome 152
  • The default User-Agent changed from Chrome 119 to 152
  • Compatibility, certificates, links, Markdown, and errors all improved

This one is for anyone automating with Browser Run, especially if you control access by User-Agent!
