What was announced?
According to OpenAI News, GPT-6 is coming to ChatGPT's free and paid tiers along with a new feature called Intelligent UI. GPT-6 launched for paid customers last month, and this brings it to more people. The post cites 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users.

ChatGPT answers have mostly been text. Intelligent UI changes the shape of the answer itself to fit your question.

- For questions that need web search, GPT-6 Instant starts answering 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant
- It also addresses the key aspect of difficult questions more often than GPT-5.6
OpenAI says it built a library of native, streamable interface components and a compiler that renders the interface as the model generates it. Training covered layout, visuals, interactivity, and when plain text is enough.
On safety, OpenAI says GPT-6 resists attempts to bypass its safety training more strongly, especially multi-turn attacks. It also avoids unnecessary refusals and is better at stating its own limits. Details are in the system card.
