Just Upload a PDF: Amazon Connect Customer Now Builds Evaluation Forms with AI

Hey everyone, Shii-chan here! Good news if you handle quality management for a contact center. Amazon Connect Customer just picked up a feature that makes building evaluation forms way easier. Let's dive in!

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, Amazon Connect Customer now lets you import a PDF of an evaluation form from a third-party quality management app, and AI automatically recreates it inside Connect. It's designed to make migrating an existing quality program into Connect much simpler.

The story so far

Before this, bringing an existing evaluation form into Connect meant rebuilding it question by question by hand — a real time sink if the form had a lot of items.

What changes

Now you just upload the PDF and pick a scoring method (percentage or points-based), and Connect Customer automatically extracts:

  • Form sections
  • Questions
  • Answer options
  • Scoring settings

You can also give natural language instructions — like asking it to split a broad question into simpler ones — to improve import accuracy or adjust the form as it's created, which should cut down a lot of the manual cleanup you'd normally do before activating the form.

Dive Deep

This feature is currently available in seven AWS Regions:

  • US East (N. Virginia)
  • US West (Oregon)
  • Canada (Central)
  • Asia Pacific (Singapore)
  • Asia Pacific (Sydney)
  • Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
  • Europe (Frankfurt)

Wrap-up

  • Amazon Connect Customer now supports AI-powered PDF import for evaluation forms
  • It auto-extracts sections, questions, answer options, and scoring, and you can steer it with natural language instructions
  • Available across seven regions spanning the US, Canada, APAC, and Europe

If your team has been running evaluation forms in a third-party tool and wants to move them into Connect, this is a small feature that could save a lot of tedious setup time!
