What was announced?

AWS announced that Amazon Quick's agentic AI capabilities are now available in AWS GovCloud (US-West). This comes from AWS What's New. Until now, Amazon Quick's analytics and business intelligence features were already available in AWS GovCloud (US), and this launch adds the agentic AI piece on top of that. Government and regulated-industry teams can now use an AI teammate inside an isolated environment authorized under the FedRAMP Class D (formerly High) baseline.

The story so far

AWS GovCloud (US) already offered Amazon Quick's analytics and BI capabilities, but the "agentic AI" side, the part that turns questions into actions, wasn't part of that. So for sensitive, mission-related workflows, teams likely had to translate questions into actions themselves.

What changes

With this launch, government and regulated-industry teams can build custom chat agents tailored to mission-specific workflows like procurement, ATO compliance, and grants management. Data is hosted and processed entirely within the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region, so teams handling sensitive data should feel comfortable using it. Spaces also enforce least-privilege access, so each person only gets to see information relevant to their own program office or mission area.

AWS GovCloud (US) Regions are isolated Regions operated by U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, purpose-built for sensitive data and regulated workloads. According to the source, this environment addresses standards including:
