SageMaker Unified Studio now connects to Teradata Vantage!
Hey everyone, it's me! I found a nice data analytics update to share with you today.
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio can now connect to Teradata Vantage as a new data source. This comes from the AWS What's New page, and it means enterprise data sitting in your Teradata data warehouse can now be queried and analyzed right alongside your other data assets.
The story so far
Until now, SageMaker Unified Studio supported data sources like Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, and relational databases, but Teradata Vantage wasn't among them. If you needed enterprise data stored in Teradata, you had to switch to a separate tool to access it. Keeping your analytics platform and your business data apart like that made cross-source work more cumbersome than it needed to be.
What changes
With this update, you can now bring historical enterprise data and business metrics stored in Teradata together with cloud-native datasets like Redshift and S3, all inside a single governed environment.
For example, you can join historical enterprise data and business metrics from Teradata with real-time datasets to get deeper insight into customer behavior, financial performance, and operational trends. Data engineers and analysts can build pipelines that combine enterprise data warehouse assets with cloud-native data without hopping between tools.
Dive Deep
Getting started is straightforward.
- Add a Teradata Vantage connection under your project's data section
- Once connected, your Teradata data shows up in the data explorer alongside your other project data
- Query it directly using the query editor
- Explore it in notebooks
- Incorporate it into a visual ETL job
You can do all of this without ever leaving the studio. Teradata Vantage connections are available in every AWS Region where Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio is available. For step-by-step instructions, check the "connecting to a new data source" section of the Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio User Guide.
Wrap-up
- SageMaker Unified Studio now supports Teradata Vantage as a data source
- You can work with Teradata data in the same governed environment as Redshift, S3, and relational databases
- It's available in the data explorer, query editor, notebooks, and visual ETL jobs
- Supported in every AWS Region where SageMaker Unified Studio is available
This one is for data engineers and analysts who want to bring enterprise data warehouse assets and cloud data together in a single place!
