AWS CodePipeline Lands in New Zealand!
Hey there, it's me, Shiichan! I've got some happy news today for everyone who loves shipping software.
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
According to the AWS What's New feed, the go-to CI/CD service AWS CodePipeline is now available in the new Asia Pacific (New Zealand) region (ap-southeast-6). It's the service that lets you model, visualize, and automate the steps to release your software.
The story so far
Until now, teams near New Zealand who wanted CodePipeline had to place their pipelines in other regions. With this launch, you can build pipelines closer to home. That brings CodePipeline to 30 commercial regions, plus the GovCloud and China regions.
What changes
For teams around New Zealand who care about where their data lives, running CI/CD in a local region is a nice win. You still get native integration with services like CodeBuild and CloudFormation, support for third-party tools, and security features like manual approval gates and artifact encryption.
Dive Deep
Pricing stays pay-as-you-go with no upfront fees, so you only pay for what you use. Check the pricing page for details. If you're new to it, the Getting Started guide walks you through creating a pipeline in the AWS Management Console.
