What was announced?

In AWS What's New, AWS announced that AWS Config now supports 77 additional resource types. Key services include Amazon EC2, Amazon S3 Files, and Amazon Q Business.

What changes

You get broader coverage to discover, assess, audit, and remediate resources across your AWS environment.

  • If you have enabled recording for all resource types, the new types are tracked automatically
  • The new types are also available in Config rules and Config aggregators
  • They are supported in all AWS Regions where the resources are available
