What was announced?
AWS What's New announced that the AWS Deadline Cloud Monitor (DCM) desktop app now shows the progress, status, and health of automatic file downloads from jobs running in the cloud.
The story so far
Deadline Cloud is a fully managed service for running compute-intensive workloads in the cloud — for visual effects, animation, product design, simulation, and gaming. Until now, confirming that automatically downloaded job outputs had actually arrived on your local drive meant checking manually. For large-scale render pipelines, that manual check was impractical at scale.
What changes
The Deadline Cloud Monitor now has a new "Download status" column at both the job and task level:
- See download progress at a glance
- Confirm when all output files have landed on your drive
- An indicator shows how current that status is
- If files are unavailable for any reason, the app shows clear guidance on what to do next
This removes the need for manual drive checks and lets teams confidently confirm outputs are ready before starting downstream tasks — especially valuable for large render pipelines where checking files by hand just isn't practical.
