Book, Survey, and Sign Up Without Leaving WhatsApp: AWS End User Messaging Gets Dynamic Flows!

Hey everyone, it's Shii-chan! Today I found news that makes WhatsApp conversations a whole lot richer!

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, AWS End User Messaging now supports Dynamic Flows for WhatsApp. Until now, WhatsApp exchanges were mostly plain text, but with this feature you can complete an entire flow — appointment booking, lead generation, sign-up, a survey, or even a transaction — directly inside the WhatsApp chat, without redirecting people to a website or a separate form.

The story so far

Before this, getting someone through a multi-step process usually meant sending them off to a website or a dedicated form. That extra hop from chat to browser was exactly the kind of friction that could make people drop off.

What changes

  • You can start from one of Meta's starter templates and assemble a flow with familiar building blocks like text inputs, date pickers, drop-downs, and buttons
  • Or you can skip templates entirely and build a flow from scratch
  • Each screen in the flow can call your own HTTPS endpoint in real time, so you can show live availability and personalize each step for the person you're talking to

It's now possible to build a chat experience where booking or signing up finishes without anyone ever leaving the conversation.

Dive Deep

Flows are defined with a JSON schema and delivered together with a message template. You build and manage them entirely through the AWS End User Messaging Social console or API. Dynamic Flows are available in every region where End User Messaging Social is available.

Wrap-up

  • Dynamic Flows let you complete booking, lead generation, sign-up, surveys, and transactions entirely inside a WhatsApp conversation
  • Build with Meta's starter templates or from scratch, combining text inputs, date pickers, drop-downs, and buttons
  • Each screen can call your own HTTPS endpoint for real-time, personalized content
  • Define flows with a JSON schema and manage them via the AWS End User Messaging Social console or API

This is a great fit for developers who want to make WhatsApp-based customer interactions richer!
