AWS IAM Identity Center Achieves FedRAMP Class C Certification!

What was announced?
According to AWS What's New, AWS IAM Identity Center is now in scope for FedRAMP Class C. It's supported in these four Regions:
- US East (Ohio)
- US East (N. Virginia)
- US West (N. California)
- US West (Oregon)
This means you can now use IAM Identity Center to enable workforce access to AWS accounts and applications that are subject to FedRAMP Class C compliance.
Why it matters
FedRAMP (the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program) is a US government-wide program that provides a standard approach to security assessment, certification, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. IAM Identity Center is positioned as the recommended service for managing workforce access to AWS accounts and applications, so achieving this certification means organizations that need FedRAMP Class C compliance can now adopt it with confidence.
What changes
Organizations with workloads that fall under FedRAMP Class C can now use IAM Identity Center in the four supported Regions to centrally manage workforce access while meeting their compliance requirements.
