List Once, Sell Through Multiple Subsidiary Accounts on AWS Marketplace

Hi, it's Shii-chan!

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

Today's news is for partners who sell on AWS Marketplace. If your company sells across several countries and legal entities, this might help!

What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, AWS partners who operate multiple legal entities can publish a product listing once in their primary account and enable their local subsidiaries to sell it through direct private offers.

The story so far

Previously, partners needed to recreate and maintain duplicate listings across every account. The announcement says this removes that need.

What changes

The primary account keeps ownership of the listing while subsidiaries can sell it. Here is what you can manage:

  • From the primary account, authorize which products each subsidiary can sell
  • Also from the primary account, authorize which buyer countries each subsidiary can extend private offers to
  • Each subsidiary transacts under its own local tax identity
  • Each subsidiary selects the local currencies it supports and sets its own disbursement preferences and bank account

Dive Deep

These are the operational points to know:

  • The AWS Marketplace insights report in the primary account gives a consolidated view of offers, agreements, and renewals across all connected subsidiary accounts
  • You can revoke a subsidiary authorization or a subsidiary connection at any time
  • Revoking immediately stops that subsidiary from creating new offers, while agreements and offers already extended to buyers remain unchanged

It is available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where AWS Marketplace is available. For setup, see "Managing subsidiary account connections" and "Creating private offers as a subsidiary account".

Wrap-up

  • List once in the primary account; subsidiaries sell through direct private offers
  • Authorize subsidiaries per product and per buyer country
  • Tax identity, currency, and disbursement settings are per subsidiary
  • Revocation is immediate and leaves existing offers and agreements untouched
  • No additional cost

This is for the people who manage AWS Marketplace listings across multiple legal entities!
