Hey there, it's me, Shiichan! Today's news is about a name change, but it quietly comes with a nice little bonus.

What was announced?

On the Cloudflare Changelog, the service that runs browsers in the cloud, "Browser Rendering", was renamed to Browser Run. It landed on April 15, 2026.

Cloudflare explained the reason like this:

The name Browser Rendering never fully captured what the product does.

In other words, "Rendering" alone didn't cover everything the product can do.

The story so far

The old name leaned hard on "render a page, take a screenshot or PDF". But it could actually do much more: run full browser sessions on Cloudflare's network, drive them with code or AI, record and replay sessions, crawl pages, and debug in real time. The capabilities kept growing.

So they picked a name that puts "Run" front and center.

What changes

It's not just the name, the guts got stronger too. The biggest one is that the Workers Paid limits went up by 4x.

And there's no migration to do, everyone automatically gets the new limits. It's kind that you don't need to lift a finger just because the name changed.

Here's how the limits were raised:

  • Concurrent browsers per account went from 30 to 120
  • New instance creation went from 30 per minute to 1 per second

The dashboard was also redesigned, so browser sessions plus quick actions like screenshots, PDFs, markdown conversion, and crawls now live in a single "Runs" tab with filtering and detail views.

On top of that, Live View, Human in the Loop, and Session Recordings let you watch and replay sessions in real time, and WebMCP lets a website expose structured tools for AI agents.
