Cloudflare's Go SDK hits v7.0.0, with breaking changes in three packages!

Hi everyone, I'm Shiichan! Today's news is a big version bump for Cloudflare's Go SDK. It's a major release, so if you use it, this one is worth a look.

What was announced?

On Cloudflare's Changelog, the official Go SDK, cloudflare-go, shipped v7.0.0. It was announced on April 30, 2026. This major version brings breaking changes across three packages, ai_search, email_security, and workers, aligning with upstream API spec updates.

The story so far

Up to now we were on the v6 line, but as the API spec evolved, some of the SDK's types and methods drifted out of sync with reality. v7.0.0 cleans up that drift and lines the SDK back up with the upstream API.

What changes

Because there are breaking changes, upgrading from v6 will need some code edits. For example, in email_security path parameter types changed from int64 to string, and the Investigate methods now use investigateID instead of postfixID. The workers observability telemetry filters were also rebuilt to support nested filter groups. On the plus side, there are new features too, so the move is worth it.

Dive Deep

Breaking-change highlights:

  • ai_search: the nested SearchForAgents type was removed from instance metadata structs, dropping 13 associated type definitions.
  • email_security: path parameter types were unified to string for AllowPolicies, BlockSenders, Domains and more. SettingDomainService.BulkDelete was removed, and InvestigateMoveService.New now returns a pagination format.
  • workers: observability filters were restructured into new discriminated union types that can express nested filter groups.

New features:

  • Query Organizations audit logs with cursor-based pagination.
  • Close a specific browser target in Browser Rendering.
  • Retrieve metrics for a specific queue in Queues.
  • A new WaitForCompletion parameter for synchronous indexing in AI Search.

The step-by-step migration is written up in the v7.0.0 migration guide. If you want the whole diff, the full changelog has you covered.
