New Artifacts repos get a 1 GB storage limit starting September 29!
Hi, it's Shii-chan! Today I'm sharing a small but important limit change that landed in Cloudflare Artifacts!
Cloudflare ChangelogWhat was announced?
The Cloudflare Changelog published an update about Artifacts storage limits.
- Repos created on or after September 29, 2026 get a storage limit of 1 GB per repo
- Repos created before September 29, 2026 keep their 10 GB limit
So the creation date of the repo is what decides which limit applies. Existing repos won't suddenly shrink!
The story so far
Until now, the limit was 10 GB per repo. With this change, only newly created repos get a limit one tenth of that size.
What changes
If you're creating new Artifacts repos, you'll want to design around fitting in 1 GB.
- If you already use Artifacts: repos created before September 29 stay at 10 GB
- If you're creating new repos: it's a good idea to plan ahead, for example by splitting data that might grow beyond 1 GB
Dive Deep
The announcement covers the limit values and when they apply, but doesn't describe what happens when a repo goes over the limit. For the details, check the Artifacts limits page that the original post points to!
Wrap-up
- Artifacts repos created on or after September 29, 2026 have a 1 GB limit
- Repos created earlier keep their 10 GB limit
- The Artifacts limits page is the most reliable place for details
If you're planning to put larger data into Artifacts, check the limit before you create a new repo!
