Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Today's news makes challenge pages on the Cloudflare China Network faster!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

In the Cloudflare Changelog, Cloudflare announced that Challenge Pages served through the Cloudflare China Network now use Turnstile widgets hosted in Mainland China.

The story so far

Widgets previously had to make cross-border requests. This change removes that need, which is how the original post explains the improvement.

What changes

Visitors in Mainland China can complete challenges faster and more reliably. Site owners don't need to do anything, which is nice!

Dive Deep

  • It applies when a China Network zone presents a Challenge Page, automatically, with no action needed
  • Visitors served by Cloudflare's global network still get the global Challenge Page experience

See "Interstitial Challenge Pages" and "Cloudflare China Network" in the docs for more.

Wrap-up

  • China Network Challenge Pages use Turnstile hosted in Mainland China
  • No cross-border requests, so challenges are faster and more reliable
  • No configuration changes; global visitors are unaffected

This is for teams serving sites to visitors in Mainland China!
