What was announced?

According to the Cloudflare Changelog, User API tokens have a redesigned creation experience. It more closely matches Account API tokens, making it easier to create and review user-owned credentials while preserving their user-scoped behavior.

The story so far

Creating User API tokens and Account API tokens felt different in the dashboard. This update narrows that gap.

What changes

  • The creation flow matches Account API tokens, with a clearer create and review experience
  • Policies are easier to read and manage
  • You can add, edit, and remove policy blocks inline before creating the token
  • Expiration presets and client IP address filtering are built into the flow, so you can review restrictions in one place
