Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Today I'm sharing a customer story from OpenAI News.
OpenAI NewsWhat was announced?
OpenAI News published a story about Credit Saison, which reported 954% ROI in its ChatGPT Enterprise pilot.
Why it matters
Many teams wonder whether AI really pays off. This story answers with numbers, and it follows the path from pilot to companywide adoption.
What changes
If you're pushing for AI adoption at work, the way the pilot was staffed and run is a useful reference.
Dive Deep
The pilot at a glance:
- Period: late June to early August 2025
- Participants: 315 people, just under 10% of about 3,700 employees in Japan
- Mix: volunteers, nominated employees, every executive including the president, and department representatives
- Support: executive training and beginner workshops from OpenAI
The results:
- 954% ROI (the target was 500%)
- 14 hours saved per participant each month, about 169 hours a year (the target was 7.5 hours a month)
- In a post-pilot survey, 75% of managers and 70% of nonmanagers said they could not do without the tool
- About 80% of legal respondents said it improved their ability to do their jobs, and over 80% of IT respondents reported greater job satisfaction
A central AI adoption team shared successes and failures in a dedicated Slack channel. A custom voice-based GPT that simulated shareholder meetings drew strong interest from senior leadership, and executive president and COO Katsumi Mizuno built his own custom GPT for company research. About a month after the pilot, in September 2025, a companywide rollout was approved.
Wrap-up
- A 315-person pilot reached 954% ROI and 14 hours saved per month
- Both beat the initial targets
- Involving executives and creating a place to share learnings helped lead to the rollout
This one is for AI adoption leads who need evidence to bring to their company!
