AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, Amazon CloudWatch Omni is now available in eight additional AWS Regions.

Why it matters

CloudWatch Omni is an AI-powered observability experience organized around your teams and the applications they run. It combines the interoperability of OpenTelemetry with the scale and reliability of CloudWatch. More Regions make it easier to use close to where you want your data.

What changes

The eight new Regions are:

  • Canada (Central)
  • Asia Pacific (Mumbai)
  • Asia Pacific (Singapore)
  • Asia Pacific (Sydney)
  • Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
  • Europe (Frankfurt)
  • Europe (London)
  • South America (São Paulo)

Together with US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland), that makes 11 Regions.

Dive Deep

Here is what Omni can do:

  • You can use it as a standalone web experience with single sign-on (SSO) or as a local IDE extension
  • Create spaces in your central accounts to see telemetry across your AWS accounts, Regions, and other clouds such as Azure and GCP
  • It discovers services, maps dependencies, and surfaces golden metrics automatically
  • Use chat, point-and-click, or your own tool via Agent Toolkit for AWS to find signals, build dynamic views, and reach root cause (powered by AWS DevOps Agent)
  • A dedicated agent observability experience offers an evaluation-driven workflow for LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, Vercel AI SDK, and Strands

To get started, create your Omni space from the CloudWatch console, configure SSO, and sign in. For agent developers there is a free CloudWatch Omni extension for VS Code, which also works with Cursor and Kiro. See the CloudWatch Omni pricing page for pricing.

Wrap-up

  • CloudWatch Omni adds 8 Regions, for 11 in total
  • Includes Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Mumbai, Frankfurt, London, São Paulo, and Canada (Central)
  • See telemetry across accounts, Regions, and other clouds in one place
  • Supports agent observability for frameworks like LangGraph and CrewAI

If you want one view for multi-cloud or agent app operations, this one is for SREs and developers like you!
