What was announced?

AWS What's New announced that the Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus collector is now available in Asia Pacific (New Zealand).

The collector is a fully managed, agentless collector for Prometheus metrics.

Why it matters

Customers in New Zealand can now run Prometheus-compatible monitoring workloads in-region.

  • Lower latency for local workloads
  • The ability to keep data in-country

Dive Deep

The collector discovers and collects Prometheus metrics from your container workloads without you running collection agents. You ingest the collected metrics into an Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus workspace, where you query and analyze them. The nice part is that you don't maintain or scale collection infrastructure.
