AWS Agent Registry Agents and MCP Servers Are Now Available in Amazon Quick!

Hi, I'm Shii-chan! I've got a nice Amazon Quick update from AWS to share with you today.

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

According to AWS What's New, Amazon Quick now integrates with AWS Agent Registry, so you can discover and use resources from your organization's AWS Agent Registry directly within Amazon Quick. AWS Agent Registry supports both agents and MCP servers, and you can now search and browse them right inside Quick.

Once you find the agent or MCP server you need, you can enable it in just a few clicks, with connection details already populated from the registry. After enabling a resource, you can share it with your team for use across chat, agents, apps, flows, and deep research.

The story so far

Before this integration, there was a gap between the technical teams who build agents with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and the business users who work day to day in Amazon Quick. Even when an agent or tool already existed in an organization's AWS Agent Registry, you had to manually configure the connection to use it in Quick, which meant extra work before business users could actually take advantage of what the technical team had already built.

What changes

With this integration, organizations no longer need to manually configure connections to agents and tools that already exist in their AWS Agent Registry. Business users get access through their familiar Amazon Quick workspace without duplicate effort.

In short, agents built by technical teams on Bedrock AgentCore can now flow straight into the hands of business users in Quick, without extra setup steps in between.

Dive Deep

Getting started is straightforward: open the Amazon Quick admin console and go to Manage account, then Permissions, then AWS Agent Registry to connect your registry.

The integration is available in all AWS Regions where both Amazon Quick and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore are available:

  • US East (N. Virginia)
  • US West (Oregon)
  • Asia Pacific (Sydney)
  • Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
  • Europe (Frankfurt)
  • Europe (Ireland)

For more details, you can check the Amazon Quick Integrations documentation and the AWS Agent Registry documentation.

Wrap-up

  • Amazon Quick now integrates with AWS Agent Registry, letting you search for and enable agents and MCP servers in just a few clicks
  • Connection details are auto-populated from the registry, so manual configuration is no longer needed
  • Enabled resources can be shared with teams across chat, agents, apps, flows, and deep research
  • Available in six regions: N. Virginia, Oregon, Sydney, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Ireland
  • You can get started from the admin console under Manage account, Permissions, AWS Agent Registry

This one is for admins who want to bridge the gap between technical teams building agents on Bedrock AgentCore and the business users relying on Quick every day!
