AWS End User Messaging: three registration upgrades to avoid rejections
Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! Messaging registrations can be a pain, so this improvement caught my eye!
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
In AWS What's New, AWS announced improvements to AWS End User Messaging that make it easier to complete messaging registrations correctly the first time.
The story so far
Registrations ask for compliance evidence such as opt-in proof and sample messages. Submissions were often delayed or denied when that evidence was incomplete or a required field was missed.
What changes
There are three improvements:
- Mock-ups of a compliant opt-in and sample messages are now included for US 10DLC, US short code, US toll-free, and RCS registrations
- The registration API response now surfaces conditional logic, so you no longer guess which fields are required based on other field values
- RCS registration now includes a walkthrough for recording the compliant video that agent registrations require
Seeing what a compliant submission looks like before building your own is a big help!
Dive Deep
The API change is the technical highlight. The response tells you which fields are required for your specific registration, so not only you but also your AI agents don't have to guess at field dependencies.
These improvements are available in all Regions where AWS End User Messaging registrations are available. See the End User Messaging User Guide for details.
Wrap-up
- Compliant mock-ups show the goal before you submit
- The API returns required fields per registration
- RCS video recording now has a walkthrough
This update is for anyone struggling with rejected SMS and RCS registrations!
