AWS Marketplace notifications now let you choose where they go!

Hey there, I'm Shii-chan! I found some great news today for anyone using AWS Marketplace — notifications just got a lot more manageable!

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

AWS's What's New blog announced that AWS Marketplace buyer notifications can now be filtered by category and delivered to multiple channels through AWS User Notifications!

The story so far

Until now, AWS Marketplace buyer email notifications only went to the AWS account's root email address. There was no way to choose which categories you wanted, or to route them to different teams. That meant procurement, renewal, and cost-management teams could easily miss notifications that mattered to them, or had to rely on manual email forwarding to get the right info to the right people.

What changes

With this update, buyers can now choose which notification categories to receive and pick a delivery channel for each one! For example, you could send pricing-change alerts straight to your finance team's Slack, while renewal notifications go to your procurement team's Microsoft Teams channel. All categories stay enabled by default and still deliver to the root email address, so nothing breaks if you don't touch the settings.

Dive Deep

There are four notification categories in total!

  • Products and Solutions — product version updates, instance type changes, availability restrictions
  • Agreements and Subscriptions — lifecycle events like starts, cancellations, renewals, and payment failures
  • Private Offers — new private offers and acceptance confirmations
  • Pricing Changes — hourly, monthly, and usage-based price increases

Delivery isn't limited to extra email addresses or distribution lists either — you can also route notifications to the AWS Console Mobile Application, Slack, or Microsoft Teams channels. Since each category can go to a different destination, teams only get the information relevant to their role.

One more thing: starting in January 2027, AWS will automatically enable these category and delivery controls for all customers. It might be worth checking your settings ahead of time. This is available across every AWS commercial Region where AWS Marketplace operates.

Wrap-up

  • AWS Marketplace buyer notifications can now be filtered by category and sent to multiple channels
  • Previously, notifications only went to the root email with no category selection or team routing
  • The four categories are Products and Solutions, Agreements and Subscriptions, Private Offers, and Pricing Changes
  • Delivery channels include email, distribution lists, the Console mobile app, Slack, and Microsoft Teams
  • These controls will be enabled automatically for everyone in January 2027

If you handle procurement, renewals, or cost management and want to keep your team's AWS Marketplace notifications organized, this update is for you!
