AWS GovCloud (US) Now Defaults to US-Citizen 24/7 Support!
Hi everyone, I'm Shii-chan! Today I found a slightly formal but important update about technical support for AWS GovCloud (US), so let me share it.
AWS What's NewWhat was announced?
I spotted this in AWS What's New. For customers using AWS GovCloud (US), technical support cases are now routed by default to US-based, US-citizen cloud support engineers. No opt-in or special request required.
The engineers handling your cases are full-time AWS employees who are US citizens on US soil. And it covers 24/7 support across both the AWS GovCloud (US) US-East and US-West Regions, staffed by people trained to maintain ITAR compliance.
The story so far
Previously, getting US-based, US-citizen support required an opt-in or special request. Now it's the default. GovCloud is built for tightly regulated government and sensitive workloads, so "who provides the support" really matters here.
What changes
Support engineers now have the permissions and tools to work directly inside your regulated environments, which enables faster diagnosis and resolution of technical issues. Getting compliant support from the start, with no extra steps, is a nice win for teams that care about compliance.
Dive Deep
There are several ways to reach support:
- The AWS GovCloud (US) Console
- API access for automated workflows
- click-to-call for urgent issues
- live chat for quick questions
