AWS Glue's Zero-ETL Now Keeps Archived Salesforce Records in Sync!

Hey everyone, it's Shii-chan! Today I found a nice little upgrade to how AWS Glue talks to Salesforce, so let's dive in!

AWS What's New aws.amazon.com

What was announced?

This comes from AWS What's New. AWS Glue's zero-ETL integration for Salesforce can now capture archived records too, reflecting them in your analytics target tables. Archive status is tracked accurately through a new isArchived field, so your analytical data stays fully in sync with the Salesforce source.

The story so far

Zero-ETL integrations already let you replicate Salesforce data into your analytics stores automatically, but for high-volume entities that Salesforce archives on its own — like Events, Tasks, and Activities — it wasn't clear whether that archived state was actually reflected on the analytics side.

What changes

New zero-ETL integrations now capture archived records automatically from the moment they're created. Existing integrations get this too — AWS Glue automatically backfills archive status with no re-sync, no reconfiguration, and no schema change required. Your pipelines keep running uninterrupted while the isArchived field fills in behind the scenes.

That means full visibility into commonly auto-archived, high-volume Salesforce data like Events, Tasks, and Activities, right in your analytics store.

Wrap-up

  • Zero-ETL integration for Salesforce now auto-captures archived records via a new isArchived field
  • New integrations get this from day one; existing integrations are backfilled automatically, no reconfiguration needed
  • Improves visibility into high-volume, auto-archived data like Events, Tasks, and Activities
  • Available wherever AWS Glue zero-ETL integrations for Salesforce are supported, across AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions

A welcome update for anyone running Salesforce data through an analytics pipeline — especially data engineers who've had to wrestle with archived records!
