Eight Cloudflare Observability Updates at Once: Logs, Traces, and Alerts in One Place

Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan! This is a big Cloudflare Observability update with eight parts, so let's go through them one by one.

Cloudflare Blog blog.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

The Cloudflare Blog announced eight major updates that bring logs, traces, analytics, alerts, dashboards, querying, and telemetry export into one observability platform, with simpler and more predictable pricing.

What changes

The eight updates:

  • Unified logs home: Workers Observability and Log Explorer combine into one interface. It covers datasets such as HTTP events, firewall events, Workers, Containers, R2, and AI Gateway, with SQL querying, built-in filters, and natural language visualizations
  • Cloudflare Traces (open beta): follow requests across the platform; we cover it in a separate post too
  • Unified SQL API (beta): one SQL dialect across all Cloudflare telemetry, reachable through the new cf CLI and the Observability MCP server, plus a native Workers binding to query Analytics Engine data
  • New Observability pricing: effective December 1, 2026
  • Custom alerts (beta): define thresholds, anomalies, or SLOs with evaluation windows on HTTP logs, Workers events, traces, and security events; webhooks are available on all plans
  • Domain Analytics: traffic, performance, security, cache, origin, and DNS data in one view, with 30 days on every plan
  • Custom dashboards: combine analytics, logs, traces, and security events, and share them with your team
  • Logpush expansion: now on all self-serve plans (previously Enterprise-only), with Transformers for SQL transformations generally available

Dive Deep

Here's the pricing.

Observability pricing (from December 1, 2026, based on GB ingested and stored rather than event counts):

  • Free: 0.5 GB/day ingestion, 7-day retention
  • Paid / Enterprise: 50 GB ingestion and 10 GB-month storage included
  • Beyond that: $0.25/GB ingested, $0.10/GB-month stored

Logpush (usage-based):

  • 25 GB of exports free each month
  • $0.03/GB for Cloudflare destinations, $0.10/GB for external destinations
  • $0.04/GB for Transformers

Wrap-up

  • Logs, traces, SQL API, alerts, analytics, dashboards, and Logpush all got upgrades
  • New volume-based pricing starts December 1
  • Logpush opens up to all self-serve plans
