Logpush now delivers HTTP request logs for every zone with a single job

Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

I found an update that makes log delivery setup much easier!

What was announced?

According to the Cloudflare Changelog, Logpush now supports HTTP request logs as an account-scoped dataset.

You create the job at the account level, either in the Cloudflare dashboard or through the Logpush API.

The story so far

Until now you had to create and maintain a separate job for each zone. The more zones you had, the more jobs you had to manage.

What changes

One job can now deliver logs for every zone in the account. If you run many zones, that means less setup and less upkeep.

Dive Deep

Here are the points to watch:

  • The ZoneName field in each log entry identifies the source zone
  • Custom fields are still configured per zone
  • An account-scoped job honors each zone's custom fields configuration
  • Account-wide custom fields configuration is not supported

For setup details, see API configuration in the Cloudflare docs.

Wrap-up

  • HTTP request logs are now an account-scoped dataset
  • One job delivers logs for all zones in the account
  • Use the ZoneName field to tell zones apart
  • Custom fields remain a per-zone setting

This is for anyone running multiple zones who wants to tidy up log delivery!
