Log Explorer Now Lives in the Observability Logs Page!

Hi everyone, it's Shii-chan!

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

The place where you search logs in the Cloudflare dashboard has changed. Let me walk you through this changelog!

What was announced?

According to the Cloudflare Changelog, Log Explorer datasets can now be queried from the Logs page under Observability in the dashboard.

The Logs page brings Log Explorer and Workers Observability datasets together, with these shared features:

  • Filter builder
  • SQL editor
  • Visualizations

As part of this change, the Log Explorer menu is no longer shown in the dashboard navigation.

The story so far

Until now, you looked at Log Explorer datasets from the dedicated Log Explorer menu (the Log Search page). That entry point was separate from Workers Observability, so it could be unclear where to look for what.

What changes

Searching logs is now centralized in the Observability Logs page, and Log Explorer and Workers Observability share the same screen and workflow.

Your existing setup carries over:

  • Enabled datasets keep working on the Logs page
  • Saved queries and SQL queries keep working on the Logs page
  • The previous Log Search page is still available at its direct URL

Dive Deep

Here is how to manage datasets now:

  • Open the dataset selector on the Logs page
  • Select Configure next to the Log Explorer datasets

Since the menu is gone from the navigation, this is the way to reach dataset settings. For more details, see the Log Search docs and the Logs overview.

Wrap-up

  • Log Explorer datasets are now queried from the Observability Logs page
  • Log Explorer and Workers Observability share a filter builder, SQL editor, and visualizations
  • The Log Explorer menu is hidden from the navigation
  • Enabled datasets, saved queries, and SQL queries carry over, and the old Log Search page is reachable by direct URL

This one is worth knowing if you dig through Cloudflare logs regularly!
