Hey there, it's me, Shiichan! Today I've got a bit of news that makes poking around the dashboard a little more fun.

What was announced?

Over on the Cloudflare Changelog, they announced that the DNS records page in the dashboard is getting a refreshed UX. Starting May 20, 2026, everyone can opt in to the new experience on their own account, and over the coming weeks it'll become the default, starting with Free plan users.

The story so far

Until now, the DNS records page could get hard to scan when you had lots of records, long values sometimes got cut off, and editing from your phone was a bit of a chore. Since it's a page you open all the time in day-to-day operations, those little frictions really added up.

What changes

The new page makes the table experience much nicer to use:

  • Resize columns, or hide the ones you don't need
  • Pin the rows that matter
  • Advanced filters with AND/OR logical operators
  • Configurable pagination
  • Wider input fields, so long values no longer get cut off

There's also a brand-new mobile layout: a touch-friendly, card-based UI with compact controls, so you can edit smoothly even on a small screen.

Dive Deep

What I love is that bite-sized explainers for DNS, proxy status, and TTL are built right into the page. When you're unsure about a setting, you can read the hints on the spot without opening a separate doc, which is great for newcomers too.

Under the hood, there's also a refactor onto Cloudflare's new UI framework, which improves performance and lays the foundation for future improvements.

Here's the rough rollout plan (dates may change based on feedback):

  • May 20 - June 5: ramped rollout to Free, then Pro and Business plans
  • June 8 - July 3: ramped rollout to Enterprise plans

Once the new experience is turned on for your account, look for the feedback link at the top of the DNS records page. Sending your thoughts helps them prioritize the next round of improvements.
