The macOS WARP Client Goes GA With a Redesigned UI

Hey everyone, it's me, Shii-chan! Today I've got some good news for all you macOS folks.

What was announced?

Over on Cloudflare's Changelog, the macOS build of the Cloudflare One Client (a.k.a. the WARP client), version 2026.4.1390.0, has reached General Availability (GA). It's dated May 26, 2026.

The headline here is a redesigned UI, and it's not just a fresh coat of paint. There are some real usability improvements too.

The story so far

On the older macOS client, reaching the actions you use most often could take a few clicks, and dealing with captive portals (those Wi-Fi login screens) before you connect was a bit fiddly. For teams, pushing out MDM configuration changes sometimes meant waiting for them to take effect.

What changes

In the new UI, you can right-click the icon to jump straight to the most common client actions. On top of that, the captive portal login experience is now built into the client, so hopping onto cafe or airport Wi-Fi should feel smoother.

Admins get something nice too: a new CLI command to refresh MDM configuration right away.

Dive Deep

Here's the new CLI command. It re-reads your MDM (Mobile Device Management) configuration on the spot:

warp-cli mdm refresh

The release also fixes a proxy mode connection stall.

That said, even as a GA release there are a couple of known issues, so I'll be upfront about them:

  • Registration can hang at "Checking your organization configuration" (caused by an IPC error; a system reboot is recommended).
  • Split tunnel list configuration isn't available in the new UI yet. For now, manage it via the CLI (warp-cli tunnel ip and warp-cli tunnel host).
