Manage AI Search sync jobs right from Wrangler!

Hey there, it's me! Today I found an update that command-line fans are going to love, so let me walk you through it.

Cloudflare Changelog developers.cloudflare.com

What was announced?

From the Cloudflare Changelog: you can now manage AI Search sync jobs from the Wrangler CLI.

In AI Search, once you connect a data source to an AI Search instance, sync jobs automatically keep your index current. Now you can drive those jobs directly with commands.

The story so far

Until now, sync jobs ran quietly in the background as long as a data source was connected. That's convenient, but there wasn't a clean way to fire one from the CLI when you wanted to refresh the index right now.

What changes

The best part: with jobs create you can trigger a sync job from a CI/CD pipeline. When your content changes, you can refresh the index as part of your deploy flow, no manual dashboard trips required. That's perfect for anyone who loves automation.

Dive Deep

There are five new commands:

wrangler ai-search jobs create # Trigger a new sync job
wrangler ai-search jobs list # List sync jobs for an instance
wrangler ai-search jobs get # Get details for a job
wrangler ai-search jobs cancel # Cancel a running job
wrangler ai-search jobs logs # View log entries for a job

Every command supports --namespace/-n (defaults to default) and --json. The list and logs commands add --page/--per-page pagination, and cancel asks for confirmation unless you pass -y/--force.

For the full details, check the AI Search Wrangler commands documentation.

Wrap-up

  • AI Search sync jobs can now be managed from the Wrangler CLI
  • Five new commands: create, list, get, cancel, logs
  • Drop jobs create into CI/CD to refresh your index when content changes
  • Flags like --namespace, --json, and pagination are all there

This one is for engineers running AI Search who want to automate their index refreshes!
